I have been making my own caps for several months. I don’t care if they are ugly, I only care if they work. After several different experiments I found a system that works well. I now have about 95% successful ignition. For my informal shooting in the desert this is acceptable. I still have commercial caps available if I need a more reliable cap. This percussion cap shortage has been very Willy nilly. Just bought two cans of RWS #1075 at my LGS yesterday and they’ve been completely out for what seems like months.
Almost considered making my own but looks way too tedious and they’re ugly and leave nasty residue according to the YouTube videos I watched. I like making my own shooting stuff but not percussion caps.
Grafs has one Lee 457 mold left. Now i just wish i could find 457 lead balls. I havent seen any in ages.
My favorites, Remington #10s, have been like trying to find a needle in a stack of hens teeth while being strike by lightning with a winning lottery ticket in the hen’s pocket, which is impossible since hen’s don’t wear trousers.
In other words, tough to find. I don’t even know if they’re still even being produced considering Remington’s demise.
I'm a fan of remmy 10's myself but RWS 1075+ are darn good caps. They fit great on slixshot or standard nips. The only negative compared to remmys is the rws are a little bit shorter fitting but the rws 1075+ are MUCH hotter then the remmys and tighten up my groups considerably believe it or not!
No problem brother, you won't be disappointedIve got Slix shot on my working guns. I’ll have to try those 1075s thanks for the tip.

Can confirm, just now bought 6 packs of Remington#10 at my local Cabela's (Ohio) and there are still plenty left. Funny thing is I called just yesterday and was told by the gun dept. there were none in stock nor would they be getting any in. Was in the store today for something completely different, glad I checked anyway. As i said in my other post i bought like 10 packs of remington 10s at bass pro and cabelas like a week ago.. they must still be being made.
