Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen H335 in recent months? I'm compiling a list of substitutes since I'm almost out. Is there a substitute that's more available than any others?

curiously,

I've recently posted about it here numerous times, over in the Where are the reloading components?" thread. I got 8lbs, Recob's is out now unfortunately...:( They still have BL-C2, which I had rather have...

I picked up an 8 lb jug at Wideners a few weeks ago. Now if i could only find a big jug of HP-38....

Two of my LGS have a shelf full of the stuff, and BLC-2 as well as CFE223. I have been using IMR 8208xbr in my 308 and was going to try it in my 223. I have been using the H335 but I am not getting the best velocity and accuracy combination. I am about 2600fps and 1" groups at 100yards with 55gr nosler ballistic tips and hornady vmax, also I think I am going to try 69gr SMK's.

What would you trade that 8 LBer for? I have unopened 1 LBers of AutoComp (multiple) and Hp38 (multiple).

I feel bad even admitting that, with the state of a lot of people's pistol powder inventory and all.

That sure looks promising. I'll look around locally.

and watch the reloading vomponents thread.

thanks guys!

I scan for it regularly. I will be happy to send a PM headsup next time I see H-335. Seriously, if Recob's had the BL-C2 I would have gotten that instead. Again, H-335 is excellent and I dont feel bad one bit....I figure now that I have H-335, it will be everywhere and BL-C2 will only pop up to taunt me. Now if I could find HP-38 or W231. Potatohead, if I were in Alabama, I would trade some for HP-38 in a New York minute!

This is a good topic, but to get back to the issue, I'm new to reloading (and loving it). I've done a few thousand pistol rounds and a few thousand .223 rifle rounds. Regarding the .223, I had been using some Hodgdon H335 powder that I acquired with the used reloading equipment I have. So far, that's the only powder I have used to reload .233. I do know that it meters well, and that it is conasidered clean-burning in the 223. Well, now, I am out of powder. I have been trying to get more H335 but have been unsuccessful. Midway did send me a "product arrival notification" text, but they were sold out in less than 10 minutes.
I do have some Reloder 15, but my understanding is that it is more suited for heavy bullets (I'm using 55 gr FMJ). So, what other powders (meaning AVAILABLE powders) can be recommended? Thanks.

They ran out...BUT HAVE H-335 in 1 and 8 AGAIN! Still have BL-C2 in 1 and 8 also. I've given two heads ups and two PMs about this! Hope ya get some.

Powder Valley has AA2460 1 pounders in stock right now. I use it for .223 and I am quite happy with it.

The day that MidwayUSA had the 8 pounders, I called 14 minutes after I received the alert on my cell phone. No luck, of course. Today was different! I called 45 SECONDS after I received the alert. This time, it was H335....but in 1 pound containers. Bought 5 pounds. Of course, they hinted that it would be a few weeks (3 to 4 weeks, to be exact) until they arrived at my door. Better than nothin'.
