military .22s ?

some people get completely carried away and start thinking their .22's really are battle ready rifles.
I agree, it is wrong to think that, BUT, I see the value of having a .22 set up in the same configuration as ones battle rifle. It allows you to practice with a rifle that has the same look, size, feel, weight, ergonomics, layout, etc...as the actual battle rifle, without the ridiculous cost of firing the expensive caliber. The one I have isn't configured any particular way for any particular reason, I bought it that way, and got one heck of a good deal. It doesn't hurt that I like it either. In fact some of the nonsense on it is just plain silly, come on, a flash hider on a .22?
 
Norinco makes a 22 rf knockoff of the German 98K. Sells for under 200 bucks brand new. All you have to do is figure how to get one in from Canada. Funny how our govt. cut off the import of Chinese guns but lets everything else from lead paint baby toys to tainted food products come in by the container ship load.
