Militec-1, revisited

Militec claims that the heat treatment helps produce an impregnation effect such that if the actual lube film runs dry - the metal surfaces are still protected.

I have no way to prove that but some folks do say that even after obvious lube is cleaned off - following the heat deal things are still very slick.

Just did the third (and last, for awhile) oven session with a Defender and a SA GI Stainless. Off to the range tomorrow, then field strip/clean, and oil. I figure, I can always wipe it dry if I have to, but the "surfacing" is there.

Is this the "right" way? Who knows? I know that my use of the oven here is well-tolerated, but I'm reaching the local limits! :D I also think that I've come close to the "ideal" application, per mfr., so I'll try to have the best of both worlds.

I tried it and it seemed to work well but I want my gun lube to be ready as soon as I put it on and not need a "heating" to apply it correctly. For this reason I use other products.
