I'm about to order a Milt Sparks IWB holster for my Ruger SP101 2.25" barrel. I'm leaning towards the SS2 for the back flap but am wondering if it will ride too low for comfort. The regular Summer Special rides a little higher but doesn't have the back flap and doesn't seem to be "fitted" as nicely. Anyone have experience with either of these holsters with a small frame revolver?

Any comments welcome and appreciated.

I have the SS2 for a full size 1911 not a revolver. I find it very comfortable. The holster rides lower to aid concealment, but if I didn't know it before hand I never would have noticed. The difference in ride is very slight, maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch.

My situation is different, but I hope it was helpful to you.

May I respectfully suggest that a better choice for a revolver would be their VersaMax II? I e-mailed Tony Kanaley about the suitability of their IWB designs for revolver carry, and he replied that the VM2 was (in their experience) the best for revolvers, because the belt loops/clips were out to the sides, and did not sit on top of the revolver cylinder, thus adding bulk on top of the cylinder "bulge". I've ordered a VM2 for my S&W Model 13/65 carry guns, and am looking forward to trying it out, based on Tony's recommendation.

I hear ya on the VM2. I use one for my .45 and that would be my first choice. I was hoping to find something in stock. I didn't realize I was going to become quite so attached to the idea of carrying this little revolver or I would have ordered one sooner. Belt side is just not going to cut it (concealment wise) for summer carry for me. 10 - 14 weeks, I knew I should have ordered one when I bought the gun :banghead:

I needed a new IWB for my old 2 3/4" Speed Six a few years back, and they made a SS2 for it. The VM-2 I used with a 4" L frame was pretty comfortable, but I can't complain about this SS2.

The 1 1/2" loops also work for my 1 1/4" dress belt, but being able to change to the 1 1/4" loops (SS2 advantage) is nice. I'd expect any of their IWB's to work pretty well.
