Juicy bit: "...young Arab toughs cannot tolerate insults to their manhood. So, as American armored columns pushed down the road to Baghdad, 400-watt loudspeakers mounted on Humvees would, from time to time, blare out in Arabic that Iraqi men are impotent. The Fedayeen, the fierce but undisciplined and untrained Iraqi irregulars, could not bear to be taunted. Whether they took the bait or saw an opportunity to attack, many Iraqis stormed out of their concealed or dug-in positions, pushing aside their human shields in some cases—to be—slaughtered by American tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles."

(i.e. If you tell Tamara & runt that they shoot like girls, they'd probably come out after you, too... )

Nah...next thing you know you'd have a 2100fps lobotomy, courtesy of one of them! :neener:

They'd SHOW you how well they shoot...:uhoh:

Um, I'm guessing they do shoot like girls, or using a more accurate (and yes, more PC) term, women. It isn't an insult, they are, in fact, women.

Not to mention, most women I've seen shoot seem to be natural shots. Of the new shooters I've seen who were men v. those I've seen who were women, the women were usually far better shots (sometimes better than some experienced men). Maybe the lack of testosterone leads to their being more patient and taking their time more. Maybe they concentrate more. Maybe it was just a fluke. I don't know, but my experience is that the women I've seen shooting were usually better than men with similar experience.

When my wife first started shooting, I was greatly humbled by the natural ability she demonstrated. It took me a LONG time to be able to shoot as well as she did right out of the gates.

Darn FRUSTRATING, really! :scrutiny: :banghead:

Funny thing, that. The several women I've introduced to handgun shooting seemed to be naturals, too.

Long guns are another story; women I know seem to have no idea how to mount the rifle or shotgun. What seems so natural and instinctive to me, they just can't seem to grasp. I guess its because they never played with toy guns when they were young.

See how many compliments to their abilities (& the abilities of women shooters) come out when the right stimulus is used...:D

Experiment ended.

Conclusion: Just gotta use the right bait...

(Did you REALLY think I'd question their shooting ability after seeing Oleg's sites?...:what: )

since we're wandering off topic anyway

(and speaking with my INSTRUCTOR hat on here) the reasons many women shoot better than men with the same amount of training are two:

1. A number of studies have shown that women naturally have slightly better small motor coordination (can you say "breathing and trigger control"?) than men.

and

2. Women almost never think that because John Wayne (oh I'm old!) or Tom Cruise or whoever the lastest movie shoot-em-up star is can do amazing things (at least on screen) so can they - in other words they don't assume they're good but pay attention to the techniques taught in class.

as to the psyops thing: hey if telling them they can't get it up gets them to charge bradleys and M1's in landrovers or on foot, then I say "crank up the volume!".
