mini 14 accuracy

Hey guys, what kind of accuracy should I expect from my 580 series Mini 14?

You won't get any definitive answers here since nobody here agrees on the Mini 14. I have found them suitably accurate for what they are but they aren't match grade shooters.

Three to 4 inches at 100 with good ammo, if you're lucky.

Using Sierra bullets and working with the load, i am getting about 2" at a 100 yards with open sights. It took some time finding the right load.I was using the 55 grain Pro Hunter. Byron

580 with the new barrel profile, or the old pencil barrel? Both are out there, but the 581 series will all have the new barrel.

Most of the new tapered barrel guns are good for 1.5 - 2.5 MOA

A few years back I bought a mini-14 ranch rifle in stainless. With a scope Nikon buckmaster 3-9x40 it shot minute of barn door. I could get around 3 to 4" group at 100 yards with good ammo. If I went premium ammo I could pull it in to 2 1/2 to 3 1/2". I hated the setup I took the scope off and mounted a sightron red-dot. I continued to hate it and sold it off for a loss.
