Mini G with scout mount??

Anyone here have one of Mr Shuffin's Mini G's with a Scout mount on it?
I sent mine off today and have a few questions.

What scope and rings are you running?
What is your max effective range with that?
Any other scope suggestions?

Now which Scout Scope?
I have looked at both this
Leupold FX-II 2.5x28
and the
Burris Scout Scope 2.75X29.

I have read mixed reviews on both, the advantage to the Leupold is that I can get a German #1 reticle. The Burris comes with a heavy reticle that is similar, but not quite what I was looking for exactly. The price difference is negligible.
Anyone here have experience with either of these?

Well, it's not a direct answer to your question, as I'm not using either scope you listed.

I am using an Eotech on a Scout mount on my Garand and it works quite well. So, if you are looking for something in addition to a forward mount (IER) scope, you could consider an Eotech.

I have an extra EO Tech here and may try it, but I was very impressed with the Leupold red dot illuminted scopes I saw yesterday at the LGS.
The Perfect Scout Scope for me would be a German Number 1 reticle with a very small red dot at its peak and about 4 to 6 inches of eye relief and be in 2.5 fixed Power and variable focus.
