So I go to Mississippi alot since I work right over in Tennessee and I was also going camping at the Casinos so I sent an email out to the state of MS to find out the actual carry laws in Casino's.

Here is the answer I got back:

Since you are not allowed to carry weapons into places where alcohol is
served, you arent allowed to carry into the casinos, because the law
says "any portion of an establishment".
Thank you for your concern.

NOW My question is, on Packing.org it states this:

Any portion of an establishment, licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, that is primarily devoted to dispensing alcholic beverages; any portion of an establishment in which beer or light wine is consumed on the premises, that is primarily devoted to such purpose.

SO, If that is the wording of the actual law and a casino is not primarily deovoted to despensing acoholic beverages, beer, or light wine, it is primarily devoted to gambling then a hand gun would be permited.

Can anyone tell me if Packing.org is correct ? And if I am reading the law correct ??? Since this portion of the law would actually pertain to some restaurants also.

Thanks,
J

Wow, that's... different. Who exactly did you ask?

The correct reading, FYI, is that you can go in the casino, as long as you don't go to the bar, because that portion of the establishment is "primarily devoted to dispensing alcoholic beverages." It doesn't mean you can't drink while you're there, either; but I wouldn't recommend it.

My question eventually got to someone at the Mississippi Dept of Public Safety who was supposed to know that answer, and well you see the answer he gave me.
