In Flrida, according to 790.06(12) F.S.:

It is unlawful to carry a concealed firearm/weapon into "any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose."

I know this means that a person with CWL can carry in a restaurant, as long as that person remains out of the bar, but a person may not carry in a place that only serves alcohol. However, does this mean that I can carry in Hooters or Wing House as long as I do not sit at the bar? I ask because Hooters is generally considered a "sports bar," but they serve wings and other food. Is anyone aware of the legality of carrying in Hooters or Wing House in Florida?

Thanks.

I recently took a CWL class here in Tallahassee and was told that hooters was fine as long as you do not sit at the bar; amusingly, a guy asked right after that if strip clubs were OK and was told No in no uncertain terms. :)

Thanks for the reply, Headless. I appreciate the information.

As for the strip club, I wonder if that's because they only serve alcohol, or if it has something to do with nudes. :D
