Just a quick question, I got a box of MBC's 148 gr double ended wadcutters from their tax day sale and it seems they have a crimp groove. My Speer manual only lists data for hollow base wadcutters which they say to seat flush with the case mouth, but I'm guessing seating to the crimp groove and using the hollow base data should be fine. I'm going off the fact that the hollowbase might leave more room than the flat base but seating up the extra distance for the crimp groove will take care of that.

I'm planning on using the Speer recommended 2.8-3.1 gr of bullseye.

I use the same bullets in my wifes 357 target loads. I load them in 357 cases with either 3.0gr bullseye or 2.9gr AA#2. I also load them into 38 cases with 2.8gr bullseye.

I seat mine to the crimp groove and put a light roll crimp on them. You can seat them flush and crimp over the top on them, but I like them better set to the groove. Acuracy is very good with them, though I think a swaged HBWC may be a little better. Unfortunaly no one can sell those for what Missouri Bullet sells thier cast DEWC.

The classic 38 Spl 148 gr WC CF pistol target load is 2.7 gr BE. Its only drawback is the ease with which inattentive loaders can double charge. I keep a representative blown case on my bench as a reminder (used a friend's reloads; another lesson: don't).

Ditto. The classic 2.7 grs of Bullseye load was with very soft lead HBWC's.

W-231 is another great choice with lead DEWC's.
