One website says MO doesn't issue CCW permits. Another says they do.

The latter says they honor other states (viz. Oklahoma).

Where can you carry? Restaurants or no?

thanx

Yes MO has CCW, took the class and then the advanced tactical. Yes we can carry in restaurants as long as their predominant business is serving food. If you walk into a pub that is primarily a bar that happens to also serve some sandwiches then that would be a no-no. We honor a wide variety of states although not every state honors ours.

As a MO CCW holder I can assure you they do.
If the establishment serves no beer or Liquor you are all clear. It is all based on percent of food to adult beverage sales so it's a crapshoot anytime you enter a place that serve booze.

On my CCW it took about 2 weeks after my course. So fairly quick!

Interested to see Sigs response as well.

From
Missouri Revised Statutes
Chapter 571
Weapons Offenses
(7) Any establishment licensed to dispense intoxicating liquor for consumption on the premises, which portion is primarily devoted to that purpose, without the consent of the owner or manager. The provisions of this subdivision shall not apply to the licensee of said establishment. The provisions of this subdivision shall not apply to any bona fide restaurant open to the general public having dining facilities for not less than fifty persons and that receives at least fifty-one percent of its gross annual income from the dining facilities by the sale of food. This subdivision does not prohibit the possession of a firearm in a vehicle on the premises of the establishment and shall not be a criminal offense so long as the firearm is not removed from the vehicle or brandished while the vehicle is on the premises. Nothing in this subdivision authorizes any individual who has been issued a concealed carry endorsement to possess any firearm while intoxicated;

Missouri honors permits from any state. Be careful if you venture into Kansas. Each states laws differ. Its against the law in Kansas to walking into a posted place unlike Missouri.

Missouri has issued resident CCW's since 2004 (law passed in '03).

Missouri honors all state's permits regardless of residency.

You can carry a firearm in to a restaraunt that sells alcohol, but not a bar that sells food. (51% of the establishment has to be devoted to food sales, making it primarily a restaraunt.)

You may not carry into schools, airports, or venues seating more than 5000 people, or any other place that is restricted by federal law. (Post offices, etc.)

Businesses can post GB ("gun buster") signage, but it must be 1" lettering on a 11" x 14" sign....(even then it carries no legal standing) If you are caught in a posted establishment, all they can do is ask you to leave. You can only be charged with trespassing if you refuse.

Missouri has a "peaceable journey" law which allows ANY citizen (who is lawfully allowed to posess a firearm) to carry a firearm in their vehicle in ANY manner (loaded or unloaded, openly or concealed) without a permit. (Be careful if you choose to carry concealed in your vehicle without a permit....you will be in violation of the law if you exit your vehicle in that manner.)

There is no Missouri state law against open carry. It is legal in Missouri... HOWEVER...Missouri has no statewide premption on open carry. Only concealed carry is fully preempted!

This means any municipality may prohibit open carry. Most don't. Some do. You must fully research each and every municipal code for each and every place you go should you choose to carry openly. Otherwise, you may be perfectly legal in some areas until crossing the street, where you will be arrested.
