Make a coffee table or a bird house, and then buy a M39. You can't out-bubba the Finns... http://www.gunsnammo.com/
Even then, I'm not sure I would complain, because all of that person's work to mess up that rifle just increases the value of the other 199,999 rifles that (maybe) didn't get messed with. There were 17 million Mosins made and not all are collectible although most are shootable.
If it were, say, one of a model only made for two years in numbers less than 200,000 yeah I would complain. I have one all-matching Mosin 91/30 that will stay "as-issued" and I have a parts carbine that I have bubba'ed at will and may yet try a "scout rifle" project on.
... Imma put a underfolder on it with a quad rail and laser with 3 flashlights...... and a coffee maker.
I think they meant the cost of the rifle + modding costs. For the total invested, one could start with a modern rifle instead.Modern rifle for $100 that has the same attributes? Where? I'll take 2.
I like the rifle, just want the stock a certain way... If it can be pulled off without "bubbaing" the rifle, which by some of the work that people have done thus far is excellent, the why not on a cheap rifle. Plus its somewhat of a hobby. Either way, its something I want to do.... just sayin....
