This is probably a stupid question, but:
I have noticed that some pistols such as XD, Glock, M&P... their barrels start camming immediately during operation. The instant the slide starts going back, the barrel starts camming. But with the P99, I noticed that the barrel travels exactly rearwards for a little bit and then after some small distance it starts camming. I am wondering how these different actions effect the use of a suppressor. Since it seems like some barrels start camming immediately, that might interrupt the flight of a bullet in a long suppressor since the path of the bullet would be inconsistent with the path of a suppressor.
