Picked up some Black Hills .223 52 grain match grade hollow points for the CZ-527 Varmint. Is there anything I should know about moly-coated ammo before shooting a bunch of it through my target rifle? Any special cleaning required? Thanks.

Don't know that I am a fan, either. But on the other hand, it was Black Hills ammo in 52gr BTHP, match. And I had been looking for this for a while, as the CZ is 1:12 twist and should like the lighter bullet. And I have no problem doing a thorough barrel cleaning before and after, or firing a few shots to moly-coat the newly cleaned barrel to get consistency. I now find that if I read further, I can find any and every opinion, pro or con, regarding moly lubricants. Will just have to see how it does compared to the Hornady 55gr V-max ballistic tipped, which so far is the most accurate factory round I have tried. And finally, I don't want to start a contentious thread about moly, yes! moly, no! (Lots of them out there, apparently). Just wanting a bit of practical advice, which I got. Thanks.

search the 6mmbr website's technical section for more than all you ever wanted to know about moly
