Went to the range with some of the 1,480rds of ammo I bought of Monarch 7.62x39mm..

WOW. That stuff spits out a ball of fire like nothing I've ever seen. The guy in the lane next to me even commented on it. I noticed a shadow move past me so I set it down to cool and turned around. Guy was looking at me with a big grin. I couldn't hear what he said but his mouth looked like it worded somethin about flamethrowers. I knodded and smiled back, then resumed shooting.

Crazy. The American Eagle and Wolf military classic didn't present much of a flash at all, but every round from the monarch was "WHOOF" big fireball.

For that guy to have seen it it'd have to have been over 3 feet of flame cuz the walls around the lanes protrude about that far. I was lighting the place up though, even I could see that.

That range trip was interesting without that fact. At the start of my session I walked past a cop. He parked his K-9 unit SUV outside of the gunshop. He was shooting a sig of some sort (didn't pay too much attention really). I set up my targets and took them out to 25 yards (max at this range) on the little conveyor thingie, and got setup. Guy with the sig started to shoot. One hit high left, next one center far right, next one close to bullseye low and to the left about an inch, then proceeded to pattern like that for another 2 magazines. All over the place.

I think he was starting to get tired somewhere around the 4th mag cuz he started hitting MY targets. I moved em closer to me to check and see if I was hitting anything (that place is very dark in the back) and he shot my target again! I couldn't tell if it was on purpose or not, but it was ridiculous in any sense. Gave me a real uneased sort of feeling knowing that this dude was a cop.. After I noticed my EOTech was still zeroed after taking it all apart the other day I sent it back to 25 yards and started some "rapid" fire fun (the place rents full autos and openly encourages firing as fast as you can, so long as you don't break their stuff)

Dumped 3 mags as quickly as possible with very favorable results as usual, and the cop packed up and left. Enter the AR newbies (or I suspect they were newbies anyway..) I guess they heard me and got excited or somethin, cuz these guys were just blasting away like there was no tomorrow and nothing to aim at, cuz they were pinging the ceiling, floor, pretty much everything - including my target! GRR!

One of those guys was the one that commented on my evil assault flamethrower. They both ran out of ammo pretty quickly and/or got bored cuz they switched to pistols (92fs and somethin else) Their pistol work wasn't any better than the rifles. Might have even been worse. I heard 8 shots and saw one dot on the paper at about 6 yards. I couldn't freakin believe it.

anyway, was fun anyhow and the fireball absolutely amazed me. My friend had some funky ammo for his AR that shot out a nifty flame and smelled terrible, but the flames I was seeing dwarfed that one atleast 2x. Incredible.

made it dirty...:neener: I shot about 500rds of that stuff, and another 300-360 of the other stuff I had, so I don't think it's doing any unnatural damage.
