First the backround to the story. I'm currently training my friend Tony in the ways of the gun nut. He already has a respectable 4 gun collection at 17 years old. Well we decided to go out target shooting today. Didn't take much, AR-15, Mossberg 500c, Maverick 88 26", Vz.24, Henry lever .22, Savage 94c, High Standard Sentinel Deluxe, Raven MP-25, CZ-52, and a Colt Detective Special. We had been shooting for around 45 minutes when a silver suv pulls up with a dirt bike on the back. We figure he is gonna trail ride so I go over to say hi, turns out he wants to put some rounds down range. Fine with us, we love safe shooting company. I walked back to our shady spot, pick up the AR-15 and a mag, and on the way back I see him pulling out his first toy.
A full auto 9mm M11. He runs a magazine through, then offers me a mag which i graciousley accept. Then he lets Tony run a mag through also, which was Tony's first FA experiance. I always love seeing someones first FA-experiance smile, it's always the biggest one possible. After that we chatted for a bit, he also had a semi AK-74, non-saiga, straight from Russia with Russian markings, very cool. I let him put a magazine through my CZ-52, and Tony lets him put 5 down range with the Vz.24. After that he packed up but before that I told him about this board about which he seemed very interested in, so hopefully he will stop by and maybe start posting.
The moral of the story is, how else can you meet a complete stranger in the middle of nowhere, miles away from any town, and make friends in under 5 minutes? Me and Tony couldn't really think of any ways. And CJ, if you are reading this thread why don't you post and say hi, maybe tell us a bit about your collection. I know you said you had some other ak-variants and a shorty AR, anything else?
