Today my son and daughter and I went to the range.

Shot their .22lr pistols, my son likes the buckmark, daughter likes to shoot the taurus 94 (9 shot blued .22lr revolver). I shot theirs and also my model of 1989 625.

After an hour or so of plinking we were joined by two older gentlemen.
One was shooting a 7.62x25 Tokarev pistol a vietnam souvenir.

The other had a smith and wesson 3.25" barreled hand ejector, nickle plated, and a very old box of western ammo. The caliber was .32 colt police thats what it said on the box , I have seen alot of hand ejectors but never one in this caliber, it was a 6 shot. The cartidges were .32 and kind of long maybe 1/4" shorter than a .38 special. It was not .32 S&W either, headstamp said .32 colt op. caliber was also on the barrel. The gun was in excellent shape nickle plating almost perfect, original grips. The owner was about 70, and said he got it from his uncles house, when they cleaned it out last week, he had died at age 92. The case was a tobacco pouch, it was found in a nightstand drawer.

Anyway, He offered to let me shoot it, the owner had hung a large sheet of paper 36"x 24" at 50 feet and put a orange dot in the center. He had not been able to hit it in about 18 shots or so, the paper that is:eek:

So I offered to try it, tiny grips, it had no recoil and I kept all six within 6" of the dot, two shots were 1/2" from the dot and touching. recoil was non existant, It felt like a .22.

The sights are terrible, and the nickle plating didnt help any.

So anyway the last patent date on the top of the barrel was Sept. 24 1909 IIRC, and it had black S&W grips, it seemed smaller than a j frame. 3rd model I frame .32 caliber something hand ejector??

What did I shoot?, Is there such thing as colt .32 official police cartridge??
