Mosin M38

Hey all

Im looking to buy a new range rifle, and since I already love my old 91/30, I decided to get another Mosin. Problem is, I can't seem to fin an m38 anywhere. Did I miss the boat on these things? Anybody know of a reliable source?

They've pretty much disappeared, if you find one it'll be expensive. M44s are the same thing with a bayonet, and they go for a bit less money. Chinese Type 53s are M44 clones that only cost around $150, and they're great shooters, just usually beat-up looking.

They're out there, but you have to look around a bit. The going rate these days is about $200, although with some patience and luck they can be found for less.

I bought one in the parking lot at work a few months ago, the real question is do u want a m38 stock on it or the more common m44 stock

i would not say you missed the boat, but you will definately find more boats floatin around on the m44 as compared to the more rare m38s, but they are out there, but are you willing to pay the price for one. jus came from gun broker and dang seen them around $295-$595, but then again thats gun broker for ya, glad i picked one up before the prices went up.
