Mosin Nagant - Which one?

I'm looking to get a Mosin Nagant (Fin made) and I'm looking for some input as to what model and if possible a link to a dealer who has them for sale.

I saw a Russian M44 at a shop today and he wanted $125.00 - I thought this was a little high, I offered him $50.00 and he said $125.00 no lower...

I picked up a 91/30 for $99!
I really like it better than the M44, looking to put an original scope on it in the near future. Shoots better than the M44 in my opinion.

Depending on the condition, that might not be unreasonable. M44's are starting to dry up. Two online sources I know of have them at $80 to $100. Add $10-$20 for shipping, and you are getting closer to $125. If you have a C&R you can take advantage of these lower online prices. But if you don't, then you'll have to either get one, or pay an FFL transfer fee. At that point, you are looking at something in the $125 range, or higher.

So it comes down to the condition. If it is a beater, then it is not worth it. If it is one of the rearsenal jobs that is still in excellent condition, then it could be worth it, compared to having to pay shipping and an FFL fee to buy one of the $80-$100 you find online.

If you want to spend some $$$ Finnish M39's can be had for between $200-400. The finns are considered to be the cream of the crop of nagants.
