Have a hex Mosin and removed the rear sight down to the dovetail. Found some rings for mounting a scout scope and the thing is an absolute TACK DRIVER for about 5-10 shots. Then the scope has been pounded forward by the recoil. Reset it twice and both times would slide forward after a few shots. Filed a groove in the rear ring mount so I could pin it with the rear pin hole and the mount "jumped" the pin and slid forward again and I lost the pin to boot.

This is a great shooting gun, but I can't keep a scope on it for more than 5-10 shots.

Anyone know of a picatinny mount that would fit the dovetail and use the Mosins pins to hold it?

I seriously doubt any kind of clamping to the dovetail mount is going to hold.

I sure don't want to have to learn on my new mill how to make a mount!
 
Sounds like a job for a buddy with a milling machine. What about trying some locktite either blue or red between the lips of the rings and dovetail? Are the rings steel or aluminum? If you want it to be permanent there is always JB weld but I would imagine you want the rings to be removable.
 
Try Brass Stacker's mount. I have it on my list of things to do with my M/Ns.There is a video on YouTube showing installation.

They work great.

The problem you are having may have to do with the shape of the dovetail. The dovetail on mine tapered. It measured 11.5 mm at the front and 12.5 at the rear. This may mean that your clamping force is less at the front than at the rear.

Those BKL mounts are one piece base and rings, which means there is less to loosen up. They also apply force against the entire dovetail instead of one small spot.

What mounts do you have on their now?

Have you tried reworking the mounts themselves so that they fit better? Once you do that use some locktite and torque down the screws.
