Hey, I saw the Mosin on gunbroker, and I knew I had one chance at it and would never see another as good for years, if ever, and certainly not as cheap. So I paid five hundred fifty bucks for it.

Was the gun restocked when you bought it? That can't be the original stock. It's the most beautiful MN I've ever seen.

Personally, I think a Mosin looks better if it's got some wear on it. It's about character. You know a gun has character if it's got the scars to prove it.
Except Vaarok's. Only a Mod should have a Mosin that nice.

Beauty, they say is in the eye of the beholder.....This is not one of those drab (or shiney) military looking things but it is an ex dragoon, 1936 Tula. Scope and mount are next.

RonE, obiously bought his from the supergun nut Barney.
Vaarok, words ... can't .. describe... should have been a poet...

I think I got a pretty good one here, it is a m38, 1942 , all matching numbers, and unissued and unfired, 'til i bought it.

In case anyone's interested, there are a couple of nice Finns and 2 of the 22 trainers,
over on gunbroker right now...

Work in progress...

This is a 1942 Tula with matching numbers that I'm sporterizing... The barrel is now 22", and the bolt handle is a M-70 style. The barrel is cold-blued (Birchwood Casey super blue) after removing the original, tool-marked rough finish and polishing, and looks remarkably good. I have a total of $145.00 in it to date...
