anybody have one .is it a good gun. the 20 gauge should be good home defence, the 22cal a cheap to pratice gun range gun. comments please

You want it for home defense? I think it'd be a nice, versatile hunting gun, but there are better home defense choices. I seem to recall you making a thread about low-recoil defense options (I could be thinking of someone else's thread). If this is the case why not a semi-auto pistol-caliber carbine like the Kel-tec Sub2000, Hi-point, Beretta Storm, Marlin Camp Carbine, Ruger PC9, or AR15 with pistol upper. Heck, even a lever rifle in .357/.38 would be good.

Otherwise you could get a semi-auto or pump in 20 gauge or .410.

I bought a 20 ga./.22LR combo made by Stevens/Savage back around 1973. This spring I gave it to my 14 years old nephew as his first gun. It was unfired. Yep, I had the gun for almost forty years and never fired it.

I bought it because I had planned on taking several long canoe trips and wanted the combo gun as a forager gun. In that application it is an excellent choice.

Otherwise, unless a person is really strapped for money and can afford only one gun, or needs a barn gun for rats, pigeons, and pests, there isn't much use for a combo gun. In short it is a concept that seems highly practical, but for most people isn't practical at all.
