So I broke out my Mossberg 100 ATR .308 the other day for bit of shooting, but the gun is messing up thought maybe I could get some advice on what to do. With a full magazine when I close the bolt the shell is being pushed out of the top of the chamber with the bottom of the (I want to call it the bolt head or face). Then on the last round it starts to feed as normal then the shell hangs up and the bolt brushes over the top of the shell. The what I'm head or face is more loose on the bolt itself (as compared to my dad same gun in .270) if this means anything. When any of this happens I can bring the bolt back and "get another bite at it" and it feeds just fine. I'll try to post some pictures later if it would help convey what I am trying to say.

i'm having a hard time understanding your issue. best bet is take it to a gunsmith. err on the side of caution.

fwiw, i have a 100 ATR in 30-06 that feeds well.

It sounds to me like the mag spring is set to far forward. try taking apart the gun and reasymbling.
