Bought a used Mossberg from Ammo Attic ( West Melbourne, Florida ) 2 years ago , put in storage . Moved to New York ( Western NY) right after that .
My in-laws come up for the Holidays and stay with us . We decide to go to the range and shoot the old shot gun , GUESS WHAT??? no firing pin .............:fire:
anyone have any info on me executing this repair ? .........
and AMMO ATTIC? :cuss:

Nice thing about the 500 is that parts are easy to find and the gun is pretty straightforward to work on. Try eBay first for your parts. You can download a manual from the Mossberg web site if you need disassembly instructions.

The seller probably did not know there was no firing pin - unless they test-fire their used guns, I'm not surprised they would overlook it. Some folks remove firing pins as a safety measure before storing their guns away, and the missing pins are forgotten over time.
