Anyone have the new 590A1 Mariner 6 shot? Are the internals plated with the same rust resistant, high sheen coating? How durable is the Marinecote finish? Any downsides?

Unless you are keeping it on a boat I don't see the point of a shiny shotgun.

What, you mean you actually want a real answer and not someone's useless opinion tossed at you?

Everything steel is plated. The inside of the receiver is even sprayed with a matching paint of some sort. That part will rub off on the interior after you use it a while. Don't worry about that. The receiver is anodized aluminum so it won't rust. The marinecote finish is electroless nickel plating and it's not high sheen, it's satin. It's a very durable finish though nickel does tend to start flaking after a half century or so. Marinecote guns have been around a few years now....they have a good rep.

I have been researching and am looking at buying a mossberg 590 mariner, I just like to go shoot for fun, maybe chuck a couple clays... This will be my firs firearm purchase, any recommendations on where to buy from?
