Does anyone have any experience with the Mossberg 590A1 Retrograde? It looks like a mean machine. Does anyone know what bayonets will fit it? Thanks!

Any standard M16 bayonet will fit. Such as the M9 and OKC-35. Both do the pokey pokey very nicely.

The Mossberg 590A1 is a genuine milspec combat shotgun. It is rugged to the extreme, and the close in stopping power of a load of 00 buckshot is devastating. These shotguns have proven themselves in Iraq and Afghanistan among other places.

The wood stocks on the Retrogrades harken back to the time of trench guns and banzai charges. Combined with the 8 shot tube, parkerized finish, man it don't get much better than that.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I didn't already have an 870 Policeman's Model.

Not the retrograde because I change out stocks anyway, but I finally more or less gave away my very overused 6 shot 500 to a friend, bought an A1 a couple years ago, and I like. Just... nice. Seems like at least for commercial ones they give it a bit of extra love as it's very smooth from the factory. Inside and out. The parkerizing is old-school good as well. Thick and smooth, and nearly black, not something you see these days. Also, while not actually important, its just fun to have a metal trigger assembly.

The bayonet mount is silly but fun, but I did end up putting the KZ light mount on it, which is not a bad deal if not going with a lighted handguard.

The bayonet mount involves the muzzle cap, so if you use a side sling adapter (like I do) that is clamped under the cap, it will prevent the bayonet from locking as it changes the distance between the two key points.

A bayonet on the end of a 12 gauge shotgun is a sight to behold, and in certain without rule of law scenarios it certainly has its applications, just sheer intimidation factor. Things like Katrina and Ferguson come to mind.

I haven't got my hands on one yet but I've seen them on the wall rack a couple of times and was tempted to grab it but knew I'd probably end up walking out with it. I already have more shotguns than I really need, but if I had extra $$$ and didn't have to justify the purchase somewhat reasonably, I'd be all over it. Especially the retro grade. It's real purdy to my eye.

Like @JCooperfan1911 says, it don't get much better than that.
