It would have been nice to see some innovation, but variety is good. I hope they sell a lot of them, the more guns in honest Americans hands the better.

I will say it was smart of them to have features which tap into the already robust accessory market (i.e. Glock mag interchangeability, and Sig sight specs). All the new Mossberg owners will be able to buy G43 magazines on closeout soon, with the new 43x coming out.

These look well done. I will follow them as they are introduced and they get a little history behind them. I just never got comfortable with Glock ergonomics (or their lack of).

Also having a model with a safety is a great idea.

I’m on board! I love this idea and will try to get my hands on one ASAP.

It’s sort of a win-win in that if it succeeds there will be more competition in the market. If it fails you will be able to pick up the close outs for cheap.

I just wish it weren’t striker fired. I’m still a hammer guy for a carry gun.

No need to pull trigger for takedown
    Glock 43 mags
    Sig sights
    1911 ergo
    Optional safety
    MADE IN TEXAS

Looks like a shield. Wonder if shield holsters would work.

I do think the 365 is still going to be at the top of the subcompact heap, but I’d really like to shoot this Mossberg.

Agreed. Part of the reason my striker pistols are M&P's is the option of an external safety. I know a lot of guys don't like a safety but I do, and getting to pick either way is ideal. A crossbolt safety on a pistol seems odd, though.

Now the problem with this Mossberg. It looks like a nice gun, but I like my M&P's which have a very good reliability track record and am pretty unlikely to switch to anything else. I applaud the attempt but think it'll be tough for Mossberg to break into the market in a very meaningful way with the more established players that are already in place.

I think it looks like a FN,
I hope it works as well as the 500.

There are plenty of pictures in the article linked in the original post.

Remarkably, I don't own a Mossberg of any kind. And I don't know why not. Some of the stuff they have come up with, Chainsaw etc., is absurd. But I admire Mossberg. And I think this foray into handguns is smart. Good on them and I wish them enormous success.

Looks like a collection of influences.

Grip is very Waltheresque, S&W looking slide, Glock aftermarket looking trigger etc.

I wonder what the street price will be. I'm guessing that's their MSRP.

Looks like a MP and Ruger got together to have a baby. I kind of like it.

That guys knuckle looks like it needs medical attention

I wish it wasn't yet another carry gun. But I guess that's what the people want.

I like it. I am curious if the guns tested in the article are pre-production or not. If they are off the full assembly line and reliability is that good, then this might work.
Being built in Texas doesn’t hurt either....

More choices is a good thing but I just can't get very excited about another polymer 9. Even if I was looking for one I'd wait at least a year to see if there are any problems with it.

Good to see Mossberg entering the handgun market. Hope this translates into more models of varying size, features, and magazine capacity. Don't really need another subcompact, striker fired, polymer pistol but I will check it out when it gets to the dealers.

Hmmm. Interesting. I have no interest in buying one but it looks like a nice option.

A hold over from their shotguns that use cross bolt safeties (Maverick 88 etc) I am sure.

    No doubt.

I'm wondering more how practical or ergonomic that's going to be. Seems like it would be odd on a pistol.
