I threw up more than a little. That is just an abomination an act of utter unfairness and mockery of all things lever gun.....

When did glock start making mossbergs ?

ROFLMBO! .... busting a gut on that one!:D

Now That right ther is funny! I dint carry who you are!

Idea? Maybe
Collapsible Butt Stock? NO!
Synthetic Stock? Yes
Light Rails? Might be useful (poachers gonna luv this)

And I must say: :scrutiny:
If you're gonna build a tactical lever gun, chamber it with something that ain't gonna wither and die at 150 yards.

not even close to accurate statement, even before modern ammunition!

My idea of a proper tactical lever gun would be a gun that accepts AR-15 magazines, has side eject, a top rail, a threaded 16-inch barrel, and a collapsible stock.

Wouldn't it be more simple to put a lever onto an AR-15.

45/70. It is his road gun for when he travels through states with less friendly laws. As soon as I have the money I am having him build me a twin to it. I have shot the thing and it is amazing.

Kwelz

Only one thing wrong with yours. IT IS NOT IN MY GUN SAFE:D Me like.
As far as the OP. That would make a good truck gun. Toss it out the window @75m.p.h. on a back country road away from civilization.

This was damaged beyond use when I got it for $150.00.
Turned it in to a nice truck gun. I wouldnt spend money on the Mossberg though.

This thread has made me laugh all day, thanks for that! The work day was a little shorter!

To be honest, change the stock to something more traditional--or at least less hideous--and I wouldn't sell it if someone gave it to me.

Still, I want to know how they manage to go completely overboard on 'tactical' and still completely miss all the actual useful bits of it.

I know tactical is a state of mind and all that, but can I have my 'tactical' in a flavor that holds more than six rounds?

This reminds me of the stoeger double defense. Not only is it very ugly but it is a horrible execution of the idea it is purporting to embody. A double gun for defense is an ok idea but the stoeger lacks the features one should have and includes "features" one would be better to avoid.

Similarly, I think a "tactical" lever gun could have merit for locations where one can not own certain other weapons. However, this mossberg does not have the features I would want on such a gun. The hand guard is too short and most of the rails are not in a location to be real useful. Give me a more traditional hand guard and add a top rail that I can put an H1 aimpoint on and a vltor offset light mount with a surefire. I like that there is a flash hider as that is something a that a defensive weapon benefits from and that is something I would want on a "tactical" lever gun.

In sum, I can see some merit in the idea but not in the pictured mossberg. Additionally it is very ugly.

Have something like this and/or other means to carry spare shells to top the gun off:

I'd much rather have this plus a few of the add ons mentioned above (flash hider, light, means to carry ammo):

Or a buttstock sleeve and sling if you insist on the tactical 30-30 thing. I didn't feel like going all black on my old 336 tho.

First we had nylon 66,s then glocks ,and all the other poly frame pistols, flexi flier plastic stocks from everyone and now this stupid mossberg has the world gone nuts?Do people not appreaciate fine fit and finish of a real gun,the warmth and rigidity of a fine walnut stock. Will our great grandkids be able to shoot grandads old gun or is this new age gun style like a bic lighter you just throw it away in 50 years?I love guns but there are very few new guns that move me anymore if any of you new wave gun guys want sell grandads old L C smith of pre 64 winchester for something new with light rails and plastic all over it let me know.
