Has anyone worked over the action on one of these to smooth it out, other than shooting 1000 rounds? Mine has maybe 150 rounds through it and the action seems to hang-up slightly. Are there any parts that can be polished or worked on to loosen the action up? Thanks.

The Maverick 88 has the same internal parts as a M500. It is the same gun, with only minor changes- a crossbolt instead of tang safety, and action bars pinned into the fore-end instead of an action slide tube.

The best thing to do is to pump it about ten thousand times, cleaning and lubing regularly.

Or, take it apart, stone the rough edges off the parts, give it a good lube job, and pump it a couple thousand times.

The Mossberg action won't easily be as smooth as a Winchester but they do get better.

You could also make sure the barrel isn't too tight. If the bolt is more than finger tight the tension it puts on the receiver can bind the action.

Dirtpile is correct
just fingertight maybe a little more.
You will feel the differince as you tighten or loosen the barrelnut.
