I recently bought a .410 shotgun for my wife. It's a bolt-action Mossberg, model 183...
I figured it would be a good way to introduce her to shotgunning. She didn't care much for the Remington 870 in 20ga that we also have...
I also thought that it would be good for use on varmints at close range...
It seems like an interesting little gun, and I'd like to learn more. Does anyone know anything about them? What years were they made? This thing seems to be pretty old, I'd guess about 50 years? Also, is there any advantage to having a bolt action in a shotgun? I've only ever seen a handful of bolt action shotguns...
I'm also looking for chokes for it. It has a threaded barrel and it came with a choke marked "410M", I assume it's a modified choke? I'd like to obtain additional chokes if I can find any... but I'm not sure where to look.
Thanks in advance
