Hey all,
I have a Mossberg MVP Patrol in 556.
Haven't shot it yet, so I am perhaps worried about my problem prematurely.
I have been cycling some rounds just to make sure the mags and bolt are working properly. It appears if I cycle the bolt quickly, the extractor sometimes fails to eject the round. It sort of just sits there loose in the chamber. If I go real slowly, the extractor grabs the casing and launches it like its supposed to.
I first assumed it was a cleaning issue. I sprayed the gun with some break-free, then lubed it appropriately. Same issue, but it appears to be getting better.
I know these guns have had some extractor issues, but honestly the extractor looks to be in good shape. It just misses a round every few depending how fast I cycle the bolt.
So my question is, is this due to an extractor issue or a standard breaking in issue. I don't see how firing the weapon will affect the extractor, but I might be ignorant on that part.
Any recommendations? Has anyone had this issue?
