Mossberg vs Remington production

Mossberg's website says that Mossberg is the "largest producer of pump-action shotguns in the world". I thought Remington had that distinction. Or does Remington make more shotguns combined (semi and pump)?

I would have to say that there is more Remingtons than Winchesters out there and more Winchesters than Mossburgs by a long shot.

I can't remember the exact numbers, but the last BATF numbers had it Remington, Mossberg, and a distant Winchester in third.

As I recall, Remington made almost twice as many shotguns as Mossberg.

Again, don't hold me to those numbers.

Export market perhaps is the reason Mossberg can claim #1?

I'd buy a 590 or an 835 before I bought a Remington with what I have seen lately......

I guess I was figuring all the M97s and M12s and all the shotguns in general ever made by these companys, not just pumps. I figured Winchester would be more than Mossberg.
