00 buckshot feels the same no matter what the mossy looks like

maverick 88 18.5 in smooth bore 5 in the tube and 1 laying right next to it so i can make it 5+1 in a heartbeat loaded with 00 buck and 2 00 buck and 3 slugs on the buttstock
500A with folding stock,sidesaddle with 5 Brenneke KO slugs,one Rem #1 buck.
Tube loaded with 4 Rem #1 buck.
I'd say pick up a plain-jane 18 1/2 " model. Shoot a few hundred shells through it (at least),learn to operate it like it is a part of you.
Then add the bells & whistles if you think you need too.

Hey ront, where did you get that flashlight and mount. I was looking for something similar for my moss 500 but never found it. I have a rail with a laser for fun, but I'd really like a light. BTW, we sighted in the laser for slugs and once, it was dead on at 18yds. It's a cheap laser and it couldn't handle the recoil that well.

Mossy 500 with 18" barrel, ATI stock, surefire tac light, and 21 spare rounds between the stock sleeve and sling. Loaded with Federal LE Tactical low-recoil 9-pellet 00 buck.

well, it sure as hell isn't light...
having the quick clips on the sling means it can come off real quick if needed, and having the shells oriented towards the stock rather than the muzzle keeps the pendulum effect of all those rounds swinging around to a minimum.

I should have mentioned that I still have the factory stock and the 28" barrel plus chokes for mine, and can easily put it back to target/hunting config in about 5 min.
I assume the same is true for many of you?

Mine's pretty stock... 28" Barrel Maverick 88... I know it's not "really" the 500, but in my book they're close enough

You can get the sleeve on CTD for $6 plush shipping on CTD. The sling pretty much everybody is out of stock (I had to do a lot of searching to find that specific one that carried 15rds) but they do have a 24rd version of the same in stock on CTD.

Just got this Moss. 500 TODAY !!!
For now , I just put a AK sling and a fiber optic front sight on it.

Sort of a 500... a 590 (non-A1) Marinecote. A mix of 8 00 buck and slugs in the mag.
Not very tacticool, but I don't imagine I'd need much else.
