This one should generate some controversy! Who do you think makes the most accurate 9mm pistol commonly available to mere mortals? And what ammo to shoot through it?

In my hands, my beretta 92fs is hard to beat. The CZ SP-01 I picked up a few weeks ago is coming on strong though - hadn't surpassed the beretta yet but it certainly has potential.

There are a lot of good ones out there, the CZs are great, P7 and P9s from HK seem to get a lot of love, I think this is a more subjective question than anything else...

Unless anyone can put up some 75-100 yard groups?

just for fun.. wanna put price caps on it? since p210 is the obvious answer...

what if we have non-upgraded weapons in a sub-$1k category? :D

HK USP Elite. Fitted barrel and slide plus O ring, match trigger, target sights.., like a laser. It would go shot for shot with the Sig, no doubt.

I own an H&K Elite in .45 acp, it is far and away, the most accurate .45 autoloader I have ever owned.
Not having shot a 9mm version, I cannot deny that the pistol could definately be in the running.

I have owned three handguns that do qualify as the most accurate 9mm handguns and they are the Sig 210 and the Smith and Wesson 952.
Sad for me, I let them all go when other things of desire crossed my path.

Since I was a young kid reading G&A and Combat Handguns in the 1980s the Sig P210 has always been considered the most accurate factory 9mm. What ammo to use in it is a much more difficult questions. It would probably take a lot of experimenting.

My P228 is more accurate than my PT-92 and Beretta 92FS, and any Glock I've shot. At 25yds I 3/5 shots touching and 2 others les than an inch away with basic WWB ammo. The best I ever did with the Berettas was about 2" at 25 yards.

I will try to use a Ransom Rest this weekend and see if I can generate some pics/info to back this up, since that was offhand and could have been luck.

For some unknown reason, I can always shoot my Browning Hi Power better than my 228, USP, or Beretta 92. And it's the one that is shot the least.

Here's one that's still relatively easy to find, though it isn't in production any more. The Walther P 1. Originally known as the P 38. It was made from the late '30s up until the early '60s.

There's plenty of them out there, and the price is reasonable. I have fired many 9mms, and the Walther is hard to beat for target shooting, especially if you have large hands.

Admittedly the feeding ramps can be a bit of a pain if you don't have them polished, so soft lead is usually out, but FMJ, and JHP feed just fine.
