Most fun gun

Not as pretty as my S&W Model 15 nor does it have the trigger of my older Smiths but gets to the range more than any of them. 38s feel like 22s out of it and has the best trigger of any of my Rugers. So, just for fun this NYCPD 1987 Service Six may be the one. Switched the DAO spurless hammer out for DA/SA hammer. At $305 it may have been the best bang for the buck of the lot. Put 200 spicey 38spl through her yesterday. Built for 357 but chambered in 38spl the NYCPD required so I'd have a hard time ever wearing it out. Good for range testing my reloads too. 20240404_144848.jpg

I don't shoot it a lot, but when I do it is pure FUN. CO2 Powered, and BB's for ammo, and it can empty a 30 round magazine so fast you don't want to blink or you'll miss it. Full and semi auto. Looks like, and has the same size and controls as the real thing (It is lighter).

The only down side is reloading the magazine is a bit of a pain. If I still lived "up in the country" I'd probably wear it out. Unfortunately, where I live now, I can't shoot it like I'd want to. The SWAT team would be here in a few minutes I'm sure.

But to the original question, I suppose my most fun gun, that actually gets shot, is my Smith and Wesson Model 15-2. I've gotten to where I don't shoot any 38's but wadcutters, and it's just fun to shoot them in this gun.

I carried a similar M-15-2 with TT/TH while I was an AF K9 handler.

Most fun gun? That's a tough question. I'd say the one I shoot all the time is my ruger wrangler. It's definitely fun and accurate which raises the fun level. Screenshot_20240127_194405_Gallery.jpg but the one that gives me the biggest smile everytime I shoot it is my great grandpa's hand me down winchester model 67 bolt action single shot 22s,l,lr. I've been shooting same rifle for 35 years and it has put food on my table when there wouldn't have been none otherwise. And it's goin in the ground with me when I'm called home. Mild to medium power is essential if the fun is to involve more than a few rounds at a time. Low cost per round helps enable a "shoot all I want" attitude. For offhand slow fire, accurate is a big part of the "fun index" for me.

Some of my TC Contender stuff can easily deliver lots of mild, accurate and low cost per round slow fire fun. My custom 8" 32 ACP stub tube and my 10" 7 TCU with mouse fart loads are currently my favorites for this type of shooting.

Slow fire using single action in a wheel gun has a slightly better "fun index" most of the time even if my groups sizes are a touch bigger. For me I like the "feel" of a 6" Dan Wesson Model 15 with rubber grips firing with regular or spicy 38 Sp loads.

For double action revolver shooting, feel matters again. My favorite is a 3" 38 Sp LCRx firing low recoil 38s.

Shooting is pretty boring for me.
Done it all my life.
Usually I'll just check zero and go hunting.
Thought maybe a couple IHMSA shoots this summer, maybe even Bullseye.
But just aint feelin it.

Trap is a yawner, but some good dudes at the clubs so go for social mostly.
HOWEVER..............I kinda like shooting trap w my little Citori 20 ga.
Get more, easily, w the 1100 12 ga.

But the Citori has a fun factor.
Even with lesser scores.
So that's my current fun gun.

But the Contender will be a close 2nd.
