I have a DSA SA58 FAL and a H&K 91
Love them both but the H&K gets the most reliable title.
You can even reload the brass. Contrary to popular belief;)

Hmmm after beating this dead horse to dust maybe we could discuss what is really important.

Weather 7.62x51 or .308 is the correct ammo to be using.

Over 1500 rounds of Portuguese NATO surplus fired through my MK14 SEI without a single cleaning.

I've inspected the gas cylinder, piston, barrel and bolt and they are all staying clean.

News media images coming back from Pakistan show the Pakistan Army carrying G3’s/HK91’s.

I don’t know if they got these rifles at a bargain price, but at least someone is still killing evil doers with a 308 battle rifle.

From the finish wear I can see, some of these rifles show a lot of use.

Pakistan has a license to produce domestic G3s and is their main rifle. Thats probably why you see so many of them.

For me it has to be the Fal. With sandcuts to clear out the junk, adjustable gas valves to send a little extra gas through when needed and the ergonomics make it a wonderful rifle, especially when you have a scope mounted on the thing.

Glad to see that guy, Detachment Charlie bring up the old Enfield, I have heard everything good about the FAL, but speaking for my brother, if I may, He always liked the M-14 far better than the M-16, he was in Nam with M-16, but always said he wouldn't rather had his M14 instead, but like Rifleman 173 said, different weapons for different jobs.
For the money "I" would get a M14, an probably someday I just might.
I think you will probably like all the selection so its a tuff decision, unless you want to sell or trade alot.

So far I already own a M-1A and a PTR91 and I love them both. God knows the M1A has put up with some neglect and abuse.

I do not own an FAL but I want one more and more every time this subject comes up... which seems to be daily lately.

I think it's like anything else. You need to try each one our and see which one fits you best.

I think all of them will take a beating as good as any of us are likely to give. Are you going ingot combat? Taking beaches, live in the jungle? Do you really shoot your rifle for 1K, 2K or 3K rounds and not clean it?

Realistically any one of these rifles will do the job well, and be very reliable. Go with the most affordable or the one that fits you best.
