Uberti 1885 Winchester High Wall, .45-70 government, 30" barrel. It's one long, smooth handling rifle that slings lead right where I aim it. Next to no noticeable recoil, and much faster firing than expected, with the addition of a dump pouch.
For a little background, I have been after a buffalo gun since I first watched Glenn Campbell on True Grit pack that "big bore Sharps carbine". Was supposed to get one for my eighteenth birthday, when I graduated highschool, when I made it through college, when I got my first couple of real paychecks. Always got pushed back. Finally threw caution to the winds, and picked up a High Wall that magically appeared in the local gun store one day.
Haven't regretted it, not one single bit.
