Picked this up for $289 NIB about a year ago (CZ clearanced them). I for the life of me can't understand why anybody wanting a "combat" styled 22 pistol would consider the P22 or the Mosquito over an all steel quality pistol like the Kadet. Notice that the groups are a bit wider than they are tall.

P.S.
It cycles perfectly with standard velocity ammunition. No need for CCI minimags to make it function.

Most people do not know that an entire Kadet pistol exists. You got a great buy.

Makes more sense to me to buy CZ 75/85 and then buy the Kadet conversion kit as well. That way you have two guns in one(9mm and .22). If you are looking for a .22 only then the Kadet is the way to go. Both are excellent guns!

I just shot my 22lr conversion on my sp01, yesterday. Man its fun :D, no recoil, and cheap ammo. My only gripe is that the mags take longer to load then to empty :d. I am going to the range again today, I want to shoot it from a rest because it seems to be shooting high and to the right. I noticed the rear sight came without being lined up down the middle, it was one line to the right. I am going to put it back center, and maybe adjust the rear sight height. I can't wait :D

How much are spare mags? How easy are they to find?

This is where I find most 22 conversions to end up being overrated.

$20 for a Ruger mag is bad enough, but most of these conversions want $35+ for an extra.

The mags aren't cheap. I think the cheapest I've seen is around $30.

I've been very happy with the 2 I got with my Kadet, and have put almost 2500 rounds through them with no problems.

A friend's Kadet conversion unit on his CZ 85 has turned it into just about the most accurate .22 pistol either of us has fired, and we've shot everything except the Olympic-style target guns. The Kadet I own isn't as accurate as his, but it's fine for fending off soda cans and other plinking fodder.

My Kadet and his conversion unit have been 100% reliable, even with cheap ammo. The CZ's are the best .22 autos for me, since I use fullsize CZ centerfires, too. Their .22's, unlike most, are virtual twins to their 9's and .40's, in size, weight, and method of operation.

All of my .22 Berettas, S&W's, Rugers, and Brownings all went away after I started using CZ's. Come to think of it, all my other centerfire semi's landed on GunsAmerica after I bought my first 75B. The latter has morphed into four more 9mm CZ's, too.

Yeah

The magazines are expensive, but I will say that they are definitely some of the better constructed 22 pistol mags I've ever seen. The Trailside mags are just as expensive and are cheap plastic crap.

The kits or pistols should come with two mags. Some unscrupulous dealars will remove a mag.
