I have a Maxpedition FatBoy versipack, and I was wondering if there'd be a way to mount a holster for a full-sized handgun inside the zippered "slip pocket" (it's the pocket closest to your body when you have the versipack on, and the one that the model in the picture below is sliding the gun into). My FatBoy lacks the velcro interior on the interior of the slip pocket, so it can't accept Maxpedition's "universal holster" without some modification.

So, does anyone have any ideas on how to make/modify a holster in there to keep a gun in the right position, other than just buying the newer Fatboy what has the velcro on the inside?

My wife purchases a product for me at her sewing supplies store. It is a Velco brand fastener and is also labeled heavy duty adhesive INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH. I often use it on packs, nylon holsters, etc and it works well. I have a Jumbo Fatboy with the velcro in the gun pocket so I know what you are talking about. Make sure that the adhesive is placed on the nylon (holster and the Fatboy) with a lot of pressure so that it will stay in place. Good luck.

I did the same as Dairycreek in another carry bag. Glued the wooly side inside my bag and then attached the hook side to an Uncle Mike's fabric holster. I took the added precaution of tacking the corners down. I can use different sizes of guns by adjusting the fit of the UM holster with a large safety pin.
