So I am in the process of putting together a varmint/medium range rifle in 22-250, a savage 12 FV.

I am currently indecisive about what kind of scope bases and mounts I should use? I don't think a one piece base is necessary, as it will hamper loading of the rifle to some degree.

Leupold dual dovetail?
tally one piece mounts?
burris xtr rings and steel bases?
EGW rail?

weight is not an issue, and neither is any sort of quick detach feature.

I went with standard weaver mounts and Burris signature zee rings (high)
on my Model 12 BTVS 223, good setup works for me.

thanks for the info.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

do you prefer the leupold prw or burris xtr rings?

I feel like the prw rings would be better, being steel and all, but I don't know?
