Moved up today (!!)

I've been classied Marksman in CDP (IDPA) for the last year and finally made Sharpshooter tonight
I felt I was doing well, but wasn't sure I could hold up in the last and (for me) most difficult stage.
I did prevail though, but not by much, just about a second!
But hey, a 3/4 of a second is still 3/4 of a second, eh?
I'm very happy though, really. Been close for a couple months, kinda hit a plateau, then seemd to move on all at once. Very gratifying

Congrats! I'm sure you know this, but if you can't hit zeros on stage three prepare to not classify well.

Nice work, now I've got to do the same thing.

Next classifier's probably in March.

We have a classifier every month, which is good and bad. Good cause you get lots of chances to do that particular course of fire and bad, cause it can become frustrating when it doesn't seem like your progressing.
But given the choice of only one or two chances a year and 12, I'll pick 12!
Seriously though, having regular classifier helps to take some of the pressure off, mostly self-applied I know, but still there.

Yeah that last stage is a make or breaker......unfortunatly it usually breaks me...I'm still at MM....but I regularly beat the SS guys everyweek.....I need to practice long shooting more...congrats....

Congratulations! I myself finally made Marksman Saturday. Ain't it a great feeling? Good weekend.

NJ and TB - I just lost 32 points on Stage 3 (3 mikes on one target too), so you're certainly not alone in those sentiments!

Congratulations!!!

I made MM in SSR last December but didn't shoot it as well as I'd have liked. The last time that I had shot the classifier was December 2002. I'd like to shoot more often. Hopefully I can move up to Sharp Shooter by the end of this year.
