Does anyone know what kind of pistol the main character uses in the movie? It looks like it has some kind of suppressor. Thanks for the help.

Daniel Craig?

It was probably an airsoft.

Daniel Craig has admitted he is struggling to overcome his biggest fear to play James Bond - he's terrified of guns.

The hunky actor will have to handle weapons to play the dashing spy in the next Bond movie, but says he was left petrified after seeing a real life bullet wound.

The star told Britain's OK! magazine: "I hate handguns. They are used to shooting people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other

"I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess"

The 'Layer Cake' actor also confessed he doesn't even like 007's top tipple - Martini shaken, not stirred. He revealed: "I don't think anybody makes a Martini stirred any more"

He's right about martinis - who makes one with a stirrer these days?

It looked like a Beretta M92fs or a similar model Beretta.I know at the the end of the movie,Daniel Craig strips it and throws it away-to get rid of the evidence-after he had shot that gangster dead.

I haven't seen this movie for a while, but I also remember seeing a Luger P.08,when Daniel Craig and Colm Meany are looking at the cache of weapons,in Colm's characters safe.

I hope that this information helps, to answeryour question.:) :)

Earlier this month it was revealed the 37-year-old is set to have his manhood whacked with a carpet-beater in the new film. The nasty torture scene sees 007's enemy, Le Chiffre, "tenderise" the dashing spy's private parts with a cane carpet-beater.

They should of not of bothered, selecting him, full stop-and should have got Clive Owen,to play the role of 007,instead.Clive was good as the professor-assassin in the 'Bourne Identity' and he could have easily played Bond.Plus there was no nagging about firearms, from Clive either, because he simply got on with the job at hand.

Sean Connery, has stated many times that he does not have any love for firearms and that he is an active anti-gun activist-but Connery just got on with his role as James Bond and played the part rather brilliantly-so well infact, that you would think that he was a pro-gun supporter. The same goes for Roger Moore,Timothy Dalton and Peirce Brosnan-as well.

Not even Jude Law,has complained about guns on the film set of 'Enemy At The Gates'.

As for bullet wounds,I and others on this forum have seen at least a few and they are not pleasant to look at,but it's a case of,'so what, soilders got shot at,whilst patrolling the streets of Belfast and Basra and the soilders, just had to accept it-full stop. The fact is that this guy is a total wimp, the gun that he is firing-fires blanks not live rounds-duh.

The largest shooting organization in the UK-The BASC(British Association For Shooting and Conservation.),has said that if Daniel Craig, doesn't like guns and doesn't like firing them, then he should simply step down, from the role and let MGM/United Artists, offer it to someone else-problem solved.

Exactly!!! He would have been perfect. A lot of people didn't even know him before Sin City, but he's one of the best actors around IMO.

After seeing his performances in those BMW short films, and Bourne Identity, I really thought Clive was a shoe-in for the role, that maybe the Bond films would have a darker, edgier feel, and not be so corny. I first saw Clive act in 1996, in a PC game called Privateer 2. He was badass even back then.

jonnyc, thanks for the help. I never new that gun even existed.

I too think Clive Owen would have made a great Bond, but I am willing to give Craig a chance. If he tanks, they can dump him and bring Owen in for the next film. They only kept Dalton around for a couple of films so Pierce Brosnan could get his contract issues worked out. That said, I kinda liked Dalton as Bond. More killer than lover!

Clive Owen, another vote. He also played an ex-assassin in a pretty good Brit flick whose name, unfortunately, I can't recall right now. He had it down in the BMW short films, for sure, especially that one with Tomas Millian. Exactly the right combination of style and machismo.

Now if you want dark and edgy, get Ian McShane, especially the mobster one in Sexy Beast. :)

Clive Owen film where he is a retired assassin, "I'll Sleep when I'm Dead". Pretty good movie.

Looks like the pistol used by Craig in Layer Cake was a Chinese Type 67 pistol. Apparently it was based on the Welrod. Thanks Jonnyc.

And as long as knifes and baseball bats are around, people will stab and beat each other.

I've been around guns almost all my life and I have not so much as point a gun at another person, much less shoot someone.

"I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess"

AND? From pictures I've seen knives leave far more of a mess then bullets wounds. I've also heard that knives are much more painful then bullets.

What a wimp.
