Well, as per my usual on my days off (rare though they may be), I spent some time at the 'net cafe, then headed off to the City Centre mall to watch movies.

Saw "Saraha". It was pretty good. A little too comic-bookish, but not a bad time-killer. LOVED the use of the L1A1 in there.

Then I saw "XXX2". Over here it's called "The Next Level", as opposed to "State of the Union". Yeesh, what a lousy movie.

Actually, I can't say I "saw" it, per say. I was about one third into it, when "Ice Cube" takes a pot-shot at the NRA, implying that all members are also KKK members, or such. Odd political reference in a movie where all the heroes carry guns, and action and violence are glorified. (Not to mention that Ice Cube's friends run an auto chop shop crime syndicate. I guess grand theft auto is okay, but the NRA is bad, right?)

Anyway, I walked out of it. Thirty Riyal to see this movie, and I up and walked out. Oh well. It was lame @$$ anyway.

Interesting, though, were the XM8 carbine lookalikes shown in the opening scene. The rest of it was drivel. I mean, the first XXX movie was dumb, but tolerable. This? Yikes. Avoid at all costs, folks. (Of course, it's probably out on DVD in the States by now...movies come late here.)

The only plus side to all of this? The Star Wars Episode III trailer. Is it possible the third iteration of the "new" Star Wars movies WON'T suck? Time will tell....

XXX2? I heard the movie suffers because they couldn't afford to get an actor with the incredible range and impressive talent of Vin Diesel. :neener:

Did you notice that in Sahara Steve Zhan(the little sidekick guy) had perfect trigger discipline when using the ak? I was really impressed when I noticed him doing that.

I seem to remember him doing the same with a tranq gun in Saving Silverman. And since he is an avid fly fisherman and owns a farm, it probably wouldn't be to much of a stretch to say he probably has some gun experience.
