Invasion Scenario

Thats kind of my point though. It would be ugly. It would be hideous. The other 49 states have a policy against terrorism, and the insurgency in Miss Texiana would definately fall into that terrorist category as far as the administration of the other 49 would be concerned.

So they wouldn't get crushed out, but you would have created a situation very like Israel and Palestine. One side would say Texiana is right here, stop trying to take it from us, and the other, larger, more powerful, better funded side would say "the hell it is, that's texas, and thats luisiana. We'll build you a wall to prove it."

Ultimately it would be the public of Texiana that would suffer the most if a war had to break out, because the fight would obviously be almost wholly in their territory in civilian areas. And since the insurgeny would never bend, and neither would the occupation, the "fight" if you can really call it that would go on forever.

I paint an ugly picture because that's what it would be. A war of one state against the other 49 for independence, if it had to be a war, would be extremely ugly.

possibly.

Another thought though. Do you think that a nation state as large as the US, with so many cultures in the different regions, the South, the West, the Northeast, the Midwest, the Left Coast, Alaska and Hawaii. Do you think that six would all rally with each other to support war against one? You saw just how divided the map was with red and blue states the past two presidential elections.

Forget about succession, we know that is unlikely. Take the same scenario but insert an other country or a group of people looking to inflitrate the U.S.

OR

What if our Govt. decides that it is going to take away all of your given rights (arms, speech,...) and try to rule us that way? What would happen between the Govt. and those of us who will protect our right what ever the cost?

Has anyone here read Where Freedom Reigns by R.A.R. Clouston? It's not about Texas and Mississippi, but states up north around Idaho. It's 2017, the "World War on Terrorism" has been won, and the Clintonian president of the U.S. decides to ban all guns, prompting several states to secceed from the Union and a second civil war. It's two large books, but a dang good read.

There is only one pertinent question to be asked, and it's whether those three states have any military bases with nuclear weapons already located there. If yes, then there's no way they could fail. If no, then it's a different story.

There's around 22 million people in texas, if even 1/3rd of us stood together, the rest of the US army, marines, airforce, etc. wouldn't stand a chance.

7 million against the conus based armed services sounds like good odds to me. Plus, I think that we'd probably get new mexico and arizona to join in if it all went to hell.

I don't think you would find enough people to fight a serous war in any event here on US soil.

Whether you are talking foreign invasion, session (which would never happen btw people are too complacent these days to do any thing that grandiose) or whatever those of us who would do something are too spread out.
There would probably bet a good bit of rebellion or gorilla war in and around the bigger southern cities (Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, San Antonio etc.) where you have a greater concentration of right thinking people, but that would be ineffective and quickly beaten down.

It’s sad really, the nation that breeds the greatest war machine ever assembled in the history of the world, and its people are the most complacent and lackadaisical ever known.

You don't have to take on an Army or fight a conventional war. Surgical proceedures performed on those responsible for forcing such desperate measures will have a far more desireable affect.
