In June'75 I considered buying a .45acp "Ingram" smg + suppressor ($175/ea, list, IIRC) from Atlantic & Pacific Firearms in VaB. I finally decided that the $400 in tax stamps as well as the huge cost of feeding the little fellow was cost-prohibitive.

Actually, that initial brush with a full-auto purchase colored all of my future momentary thoughts in that direction.

Well, Sarge, you live in the United States. I live in Illinois, The Land of Lincoln. We can't have fun guns here.

Never could figure out where Illinois comes off claiming to be the " Land of Lincoln" anyway. Lincoln was born in Kentucky, grew up in Indiana, I think it was, and never set foot in Illinois until he was a grown man.
