I've been going back and forth for months looking at bullet feeders and not coming any closer to a purchase. The new hornady feeder looks great, and has advantages over other feeders. My main 2 calibers I'd want to feed for are 308 and 45acp.

So, the best feeder for pistol seems to be mr bullet feeder. I like their dropper much better than the hornady and others, and their conversion for rifle is an extra 185$

BUT, the hornady rifle dropper looks fantastic, and also frees up 2 whole stations because it drops, seats, and crimps all in one, whereas the mr B only drops.

The mr bullet feeder advantage is that one hopper work for both rifle and pistol and with the hornady I would require an entirely different feeder (I think) unless it can be modified (with a mr bullet dropper sold separately)

Any input on these units? The hornady is also sold a bit strangely in that you can't buy the 308 version, you must buy the 223 version and then buy the 308 conversion kit.

A point that I had forgotten and just relearned is that the hornady 30 cal setup will not feed for 300blk which sort of negates it's usefulness for me so that's out.

Any mr Bulletfeeder users here with comments about the system?

Actively watching this thread.
I have a Dillon 650, and want to add a bullet feeder as well.
Considering either the Mini Mr. Bullet Feeder or Hornady Bullet loading die with a plastic tube rather than the auto feeder.

What I like about the Mr. Bullet feeder are the Dillon specific powder drop and flaring tool specifically designed for the bullet feeder. Mini Bullet feeder $140, additional 100 rnd cassettes $50. Powder drop, flare insert $39. Can be upgraded to full auto feeder for $475.

What I like about the Hornady, is that I can start with the feeding die for $25 and add a plastic tube to gravity feed bullets. Also, upgrading to the auto feeder at a price of approximately $275. Considerably lower than the Mr. Bullet Feeder at $475.

Then there is the caliber specific RCBS version which comes with a tube that holds 20 to 25 bullets. $30 at Midway.
The auto loading version is $420, includes adapters for all pistol cartridges, but requires an additional $140 adapter to be used with a Dillon press.

So I am interested in any advice that forum members might have.

The OP already answered his own question at the end of the first post. So not a lot to add.

This is one of my KISS rifle feeders before the guys split up and the name changed to mrbulletfeeder.

They do not use any different powder drop to flare rifle cases, that is only with the pistol feeders and I prefer the GSI pistol feeders myself.

Yeah I did although if i had a 650 the question would be gsi vs mr bullet feeder. Im using a LNL so the gsi is not an option.
The hornady feeder die is, in my opinion, completely worthless. I've messed around with it extensively and reliability is not its strong suit. It takes so much energy to monitor and adjust that it negates any gain and yes I've sanded and tweaked and even rearranged the collets and nothing makes it feed every bullet one at a time. I'm going to try the same concept but using the mr bullet feeder die and a tube instead for now. Will report my findings.

Jmorris your collators are an inspiration for me and I may try to make one myself sometime soon.

Jmorris what do you like better about the GSI over Mr Bullet feeder?

The GSI allows you to feed and seat at the same station so you can retain a powder check die and crimp separately from seating.

Thanks Jmorris. I was aware of that, but thought I was over looking something. I have never used te powder check die myself since I look I every case as it leaves station 2. One thing I noticed on the new GSI is the bullet bin is supported by the tool head. I like the older version better that mounted on a pole. So far I have been happy with my Mr Bullet Feeder on my .40s&w 650. I am looking to get another bullet feeder for my 9mm 650.

I actually don't own a GSI collator (bullet bin). They didn't offer them when I bought my first feeder from them so I made my own.

My point in wanting the PC die as part of the system was my final goal of a reloading machine that would run itself without me needing to be there.

This was the first run of it.
