There shouldn't be any problem using flangeless musket caps.
IIRC someone said that without any flange there's virtually no chance that a piece of metal flange can separate to cause injury during firing, which means that they're safer.
If your going to target shoot, the standard CCI no. 11's are best. And cheapest. I have a Zolie .58 musket and have the no. 11 cap nipple for it.
I have done a bench rest test at 50 yds. switching between the two nipples.
The no. 11 cap is far more accurate. I have won quite a few musket matches
and Aggs. using this. Most top shooters at the Nationals will only use the
standard cap and not the magnum. RWS 1075 is a good cap also.
Just a word to the wise...I would keep that on the QT. And I'm sure Dixie would appreciate it, too. Don't wanna see them have any trouble for trying to save guys a bunch of money.
