Most kids go out and get completely wasted to the point where they can't remember their last names for their 21st birthday. Me? I've never felt so sober...

Went to the gun show this past weekend and picked this up:

So far my only plans for this gun are to buy some dark wood grips. Not sure where to find them. Anybody got any tips?

P.S. I DID really want a springer 1911 but I just didn't have enough, and since this is my first gun I figured I'd be better off with something like this to double as a range gun and a CC gun when the time comes.

MrIzhevsk, you seem to be on a better track than I was at 21 (30 years ago), congratulations!

Les

I think we would get along great!!!!! I turned 21 on April 21st this year and this was my present to myself!

there's a member on here who had one with wooden grips. Not sure where he got them from.

I bought my first handgun on my 25th birthday.

A warning from the weary: guns multiply in captivity. That's all I'll say ;)

Thanks Onward and everybody! I'm really happy I ended up with this. I was this *holds up fingers* close to buying a RIA 1911 instead but I figured, I'll have a 1911 eventually anyways and it will probably be a springer or a colt, so why would I bother buying a cheaper 1911 for the time being. Oh and its a .45 acp

Very cool. And you're right to wait and get what you want. There's nothing wrong with a RIA, but if you're set on something different, you did the right thing by waiting. Nice looking pistol.

Very nice pistol and Happy Birth Day. I buy myself a new gun for my B-Day every year and a few in between. :D:D:D:D

Happy Birthday, That looks very nice. Good going for 21, At 21 I spent just about all my money on booze & women-the rest I just wasted.

"am i detecting the start of a birthday tradition?"

A great idea! We should start a "Birthday Club" here at THR. Membership requires that the member buy a firearm at every birthday.

If the member starts at age 21, by the time he (she) is 65, that'll be 44 firearms; not nearly enough, but purchases at other times of the year are encouraged.

dang... thats pretty... and happy birthday! (belated i assume)

started the same tradition myself (almost) a year ago!
