I gave this gun to my oldest grandson several years ago so he woudl have a 9mm. I have since offered to buy it back from him. Uh-uh, grandpa, but you can use it any time you want. We were recently discussing the influx of illegals that are showing up in our area now and I mentioned that I keep a chair side SD gun but I had nothing that would accept a light. He offered to bring the 24/7 back already equipped with a light and it arrived yesterday including magazines loaded with HP rounds. I doubt I will ever need it but better safe than sorry and I am certainly not able to go hand to hand with an intruder. It's been quite sometime since I handled this gun and had forgotten just how large and heavy it is. That is good since weight negates recoil.

Get out and re-familiarize yourself with it, and you will be well armed for HD.

Let’s all hope you never need to pick it up for anything more than range trips 🙏.

Stay safe.

Getting out is the problem at this point but only a week until my appointment with an orthopedic surgeon that''s considered to be one of the best in my area. I will just have to depend on what I remember for the time being. I have my fingers crossed that he can make me mobille again. If the ortho guy my wife and I used to go to hadn't retired this would have long been done with as I would have called him. I can't blame him for quitting while he was young enough to still enjoy life though. I have spent since early last summer working my way through different doctors and tests with long wait times. This is rural NM and health cares is rather scarce.

Hope you are able to get back up on your feet to do the stuff you want to do. Good orthos are hard to find and hopefully, you have found one. And another thing, sounds like that grandson of yours was raised up right.

He was. I started taking him dove hunting with me when he was so small that he wore my wife's hunting vest because he just had to have one like grandpa's and he looked like he was wearing a dress. He got to carry a Daisy Buck BB gun and finish off any downed dove that was still alive. He's all grown up and is now 40 years old with a wife, daughter, and a son. He was always a good kid and now a responsible adult with an excellent paying job.
